Eagle County Colorado

Eagle County is home to more than ten separate towns and unincorporated communities – that make up one of the fastest growing counties in the state. Because of the rich culture that exists in the county, residents, throughout the year, have the opportunity to enjoy a number of festivals, celebrations, rodeos, and concerts -- Beaver Creek hosts World Cup Racing, and Vail draws thousands of visitors a year. Tourism drives Eagle County's economy, with more than 325,000 visitors per year and is home to Vail Mountain, a top tourist destination.

Eagle County decided to purchase the Roam Secure Alert Network (RSAN™) following an outage of the county’s reverse 911 system. The failure of a voice only service meant that during a wild fire voice messages reached less than 10% of the population in the county. Thirteen agencies in Eagle County contributed to the purchase of RSAN, which will enable Eagle County to send text-based communications to police, fire, em ergency management agencies, more than 42,000 citizen, and 325,000 annual visitors. During the winter season the system is used several times a day to keep both residents and tourists informed on up to the minute weather conditions.

Eagle County’s deployment of RSAN’s interoperable alerting platform prompted press coverage on Eagle County’s Channel 4 and 9 News, the Aspen Times, the Vail Daily and the Summit Daily.
