University of Southern California Deploys RSAN on Campus

University of Southern California deployed the Roam Secure Alert Network (RSAN) to communicate to parents, students, faculty and staff in the event of an emergency, as well as to relay routine messages, in real time, to any text-enabled device. USC’s system, TrojansAlert , supports rapid communication across USC’s campuses throughout California and across the country including downtown Los Angeles, and Marina Del Rey, Orange County, Sacramento, Washington, D.C., Catalina Island, Alhambra and around Southern California.

USC’s diverse student population will be able to receive messages via cell-phone, Blackberry, e-mail and other devices. Via the Roam Secure Information Exchange (RSIX), Trojans Alert has the capability to connect USC to San Francisco city and county, San Mateo County, Marin County and the Northern California Regional Terrorism Threat Assessment Center (NC RTTAC) "The Roam Secure Alert Network provides USC the ability to instantly communicate emergency information to our on and off campus constituents,” said Carol A. Hayes, Ed.D. Technology Director, University of Southern California, Career and Protective Services. We chose Roam Secure based on their superior technology, and we were also impressed with how easy Roam Secure made enrollment for students.”

RSAN is fast becoming the emergency alerting tool of choice for academic institutions, with the University of Maryland, George Mason University, University of Mary Washington, and Villanova University joining as some of Roam Secure’s latest clients.
