Delaware Co. launching wireless notification

April 8, 2008 (WPVI) -- In the event of an emergency, soon your e-mail or cell phone could tell you.

Delaware County officials are utilizing a news system to sent out e-mail, text message and other electronic messages to residents in case of an emergency.

The system used the Roam Secure Alert Network to send out alerts during emergencies. You can have the notices sent to your:

• email account
• cell phone via SMS text
• alpha-numeric (text) pager
• Smartphone/PDA
